Mechanism (brief)

Oral dissolving film formulation of aripiprazole (D2/D3 partial agonist with 5-HT1A partial agonism and 5-HT2A antagonism) designed to improve medication adherence by dissolving in the mouth without water.

Monitoring highlights

• Weight/BMI and waist circumference; fasting lipids and glucose/HbA1c at baseline and periodically.

• Monitor for compulsive behaviors (gambling, eating, shopping) and counsel patients and caregivers.
• Orthostatic vital signs during dose initiation.
